About Us:
ONE Basketball Club is committed to promoting Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) in basketball, aiming to eliminate financial barriers and create opportunities for athletes of all backgrounds. We operate with a focus on social determinants of health and are working toward achieving Canada Basketball Certification to enhance our coaching standards.

We are currently seeking passionate coaches to join our team and help us create a safe, supportive environment for athletes of all ages.

Coaching Requirements:
To maintain our high standards, coaches must meet the following criteria:

BNS Screening Policy: Complete the BNS Screening Disclosure Form.

Reference Letters: Two letters supporting your coaching experience.

Police Check: Required for all coaches.

Child Abuse Registry: Mandatory for ensuring athlete safety.

Safe Sport Knowledge: Understanding of Safe Sport principles.

Familiarity with Our Mission: Review our work.

Compensation:
As a non-profit organization, we primarily rely on funding through fundraising, grants, and donations to support our operations. When funding is available, we offer the following compensation. We place great importance on valuing everyone’s time and contributions, and offering compensation is part of our commitment to creating a respectful and inclusive environment. This is integral to our work and aligns with our focus on social determinants of health and fostering positive relationships within our community.

Junior Trainer: $20/hour

Adult Entry-Level Coach/Trainer: $25/hour

Intermediate Coach/Trainer: $30/hour

Advanced Coach/Trainer: Up to $50/hour

Professional Development:
We are committed to the ongoing growth of our coaching staff. While we do not charge for training, we raise funds to cover the cost of professional development opportunities. This ensures our coaches stay updated with the latest techniques and best practices, helping them provide the best possible experience for our athletes.

Division and Locations:
We serve athletes from ages 5 to 18 (male and female). Weekly sessions are held at Rockingstone Heights School, and weekends at J.L. Isley High School.
