Expanding Access to Sport, Food, Leadership, and Community Connection
Nova Scotians Helping Nova Scotians Association (NSHNSA) is preparing for a major year of community programming in 2026. Through sport, leadership development, food access initiatives, and cultural events, the organization is working to create more opportunities for youth, families, and communities across Halifax and surrounding areas.
As a grassroots nonprofit, NSHNSA focuses on reducing the barriers that prevent many individuals and families from accessing recreation, mentorship, healthy food, and supportive community spaces. By addressing the social determinants of health, the organization creates programs that strengthen both individual well-being and community resilience.
Through inclusive and accessible programming, NSHNSA is building spaces where youth and families can stay active, develop confidence, gain leadership skills, and feel a sense of belonging.
